Review by hotel critic
I recently found myself in Avezzano due to a train strike and ended up at Hotel Velino, a fortunate stop for my family and me. Just a three-minute walk from the train station, its location made it ideal for exploring the area. We settled into a spacious room that boasted great air conditioning-definitely a blessing on a hot day. Each morning, breakfast was delivered to our door, which was a unique experience, though I did wish for the flexibility to request a little extra. Given that we were traveling with a toddler under two, having a fridge in our room was particularly helpful for storing snacks and baby food. The staff were very accommodating, offering us useful insights about local transportation options for our onward journey. They also pointed us toward nearby restaurants, just a five-minute stroll away, which was great for family dinners. At only €90 for our room, including breakfast, Hotel Velino provided an excellent base for our unexpected family adventure. If you find yourself in this charming town, it's worth a look for its convenience and family-friendly amenities.
